Dog Buggy

People may think that Dog Buggy's are silly and making dogs lazy, but they can be used for the benefit of dogs for a variety of reasons.

Think of it this way, if you have a (human) toddler and you want to go to the park for them to play, you push them there in a buggy, they get out, blow off some steam, and then you push them home again. Walking them to the park means they're tired when they get there, don't enjoy their play, then really tired (and normally then grumpy) walking back. Hounds are no different!

Take Willow for instance. Willow has recently been diagnosed with an illness which has effected her balance and co-ordination whilst her medication is being balanced out.

Having a buggy means she can be pushed to the fun parts of the walk, get out, have a wonderful sniff around, have a play and a mooch, then when she's had enough she can get back in, have a rest, but still enjoy being out and about with her family.

Dog buggy's mean that your older or slightly less mobile hounds or hounds recovering from surgery, still get to enjoy being with you out and about.

We have three buggy's dotted around the country which we are more than happy to lend to you for a holiday, we can get these couriered to you (costs can be arranged with you but it's not as expensive as buying a buggy), and if you wish to make a donation for the use of the buggy then that's wonderful.

Here's the three buggy's we currently have which can be borrowed.  All of these have been donated to us or purchased with donations for specific hounds needs.

Since the original post we have also been offered this "behind a bike" buggy for loan as well! So please do ask if any of these could assist your hound

Just look at willow enjoying her first walk with the buggy! This is what her mum said

Took her for her first proper walk/ride this evening. Can't believe how well she has taken to it. She walked onto the field and about a quarter of a way round, then hopped in for a bit. Out again just before we left the field and then I walked her home, she was such a good girl and she's now flat out asleep

Both the red and yellow buggy's are out on loan at the moment, Willow is really getting the benefit of being able to travel to walking destinations and then have a good snuffle around and once a rest is needed, she gets back in and enjoys her time with her family.

Below is Hamilton inspecting the yellow buggy when it arrived and weighing up whether it's a suitable chariot for her golden years

We're so pleased we are able to provide assistance to these hounds

We have the privilege of adopting Dylan. The whole process was seamless and very reassuring that they cover all bases, both in relation to vetting us and also in the assessment of the hound
