Update on Cooper the young Hound suffering with Hip Dysplasia

We thought you'd like an update on young lad Cooper.

You'll recall that Cooper has quite significant hip dysplasia which needs therapy until he is fully grown, then a decision can be made whether he requires surgery or not.

Cooper has started on YouMove to help support his joints. His walks are kept controlled and relaxed so he doesn't over stress his joints. Cooper has also started, and loves, hydrotherapy.

As you can see from the photos, Cooper loves his new Aunty Cathy of Peak District Canine Hydrotherapy, and we think he's decided the hydro is just an excuse to get more cuddles and love!

Cooper has had 2 sessions so far and is doing really well with this. It's too early to see a difference at this stage but he does everything that is required of him, in between smooches!

It has been suggested that Cooper has his stance analysed as this would then show us what his current weight distribution on each limb is. This can then be repeated in a few months time so any improvement or changes can be monitored. Cooper's foster mum is in the process of arranging this.

Each Hydrotherapy session costs £40.00 and Cathy will invoice us every 5 sessions and will keep us updated with reports. We are sure you will agree this is best for Cooper and his future, hopefully we will be able to avoid any future surgery.

If you would like to donate to Cooper's hydro sessions there is a link below to do so, or you can purchase a raffle ticket for £5.00 to be in with the chance of winning this amazing Wrendale dog walking bag bundle, which includes a bag, treat pouch and poop bag holder emblazoned with dogs of all breeds, of course including bassets.

We have the privilege of adopting Dylan. The whole process was seamless and very reassuring that they cover all bases, both in relation to vetting us and also in the assessment of the hound
