The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain

The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain (BRNGB) was founded in 2013 by a small group of friends. We started with nothing but an idea and a love of Basset Hounds. The idea was how we could support Basset Hounds that had fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.

So the The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain was formed by Sam Morgan, Sam Savage and Louise Nicholls. In time the team was further strengthened with the addition of Dawn Gilchrist and Jo Bloyce.

As time passed we realised the need for The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain to become a registered charity, so we applied for Charity Status and on the 31 March 2016 proudly became a Registered Charity (Registered Charity No 1166291).

We are one of only two Registered Charities in Great Britain for Basset Hounds (Basset Hound Welfare being the other) with the aim to help ensure every Basset Hound spends their life in a loving, caring home

We are very proud to say that to date we have rescued over 500 hounds!

One thing we realised very early in our journey was how important our Volunteers are and without them and the generous Donations that we receive The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain simply would not exist, so from the Trustees THANK YOU!

Whether you are a volunteer or a donor you have played a massive part in rescuing so many hounds.

#nobassetgetsforgotten

The aims of The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain are to help ensure every Basset Hound spends their life in a loving, caring home, and to re-home Basset Hounds in need or have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own and to provide support wherever possible to any Basset Hound owners.

If you can no longer look after your Basset Hound please do not advertise him free to a good home on any websites or local newspapers. You don't know where your dog will end up.

We will never judge anyone who has to surrender their Basset Hound as we fully understand that sometimes things just don't work out, the Basset Hounds wellbeing is all that matters to us here at The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain.

So, please if you find you can no longer care for your Basset Hound get in touch with us, and we will do everything we can to either rehome your Basset Hound or support you to help you keep them.

We use a network of foster homes, transporters and homecheckers throughout the length and breadth of Great Britain to assess the needs of every Basset Hound, make sure they are healthy and ready to be placed in the best possible home.

We have no income and rely entirely on donations and volunteers. To make a donation to The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain please click here Donate Now
As important as donations are, we are always looking for reliable Volunteers to help with the task of running our Charity, for more information on how you could Volunteer please click on the Volunteer tab on our top menu where you will find the various Volunteer application forms.

We have the privilege of adopting Dylan. The whole process was seamless and very reassuring that they cover all bases, both in relation to vetting us and also in the assessment of the hound
