You may recall young Barney joined us as an emergency at the end of January. Because of the nature of his surrender things moved very quickly and Barney spent the last 2 weeks in emergency foster whilst we could place him with a permanent foster.
Those first 2 weeks have been a huge insight into Barney. It was a difficult road for his foster family who we are incredibly grateful to for their assistance with this young lad.
We know some of Barney's background; we do believe that events from his past have led to fear behaviours arising in certain situations. Those two weeks gave us an insight into Barney's triggers and have enabled us to place him with a foster home who has experience of these behaviours so we can help Barney.
We will also be seeking the help of external, positive reinforcement behaviour trainer.
For a hound to be so young, who is such a loving boy, to have such fear is a crying shame but we will do our best for him and we know you will all support us in his journey.
Barney's wishlist was not delivered. We have spoken to Amazon and they have assured us that refunds have been given to those of you who donated to his wish list. If you have not received a refund please do contact Amazon. We are unable to assist you with this as it all comes from your account.
As such Barney's wishlist is open again. If you are able to donate to this we would be grateful. As it stands Barney has nothing, he spent the last couple of weeks in borrowed items so getting his own things is a huge priority.
If you would like to donate towards Barney's care including his behaviourist the link to do so is below, please where you can add giftaid as this will increase your donation.
Thank you so much to Barney's initial foster family, his transport team and all of his supporters. We fear it may be a long, tricky road for this lad, but we will do everything we can for him
