Please welcome 10 month old Sophie into the family. Please note, as always Sophie is under assessment and is not ready to be adopted, any enquiries regarding Sophie will not be answered at this time.
Sophie’s family contacted us on Friday to ask for help. Unfortunately, a change in their circumstances meant they were no longer able to give a busy 10-month-old puppy the time and care she deserves. Wanting the best for Sophie, they made the heart-breaking decision to ask us to help.
Sophie is a lovely little girl, but we totally understand, knowing the circumstances, why Sophie and her family needed our help.
She’s a big girl for her age; now we know Bassets have selective hearing and are stubborn, but this young girl takes it to the extreme. She totally ignores any attempt to get her attention, she (if she actually does hear the words) thinks “no”, “Sophie”, “leave” “down” is white noise, ignores any form of treat regardless of his value; when she does decide to come to you, it’s on a pogo stick and land shark (puppy) teeth, all whilst trying to climb out of the downstairs window.
She’s a large ball of energy, there’s no malice, but overwhelming excitement, stubbornness, lack of boundaries, attention seeking little diva!
Now she will be going to the vets in the coming days; we know from her previous owners she has very gunky ears (as you can see) and she does have a kink in her tail, possibly an old break (which can be common from when little ones are born and stepped on by mum). All will be investigated in due course.
Sophie doesn’t need a wish list, however if you would like to donate to her care, you can do by following the link below, or making a payment to Paypal [email protected] or the bank A/C 52372266 S/C 40-34-27.
