Meet four hounds currently in our care. Please note that these hounds are NOT ready to be adopted, any applications made for these Hounds will not be responded to.

We wanted to give you a little insight into what’s going on behind the scenes with the hounds in our care, so meet 4 of the 16 hounds who are with us for the start of our 10th year!

First up this lovely little lady. She’s only just a year old and has been with us since August

She’s been with us so long as we have been waiting for her season so she can be spayed prior to being adopted

She’s a lovely little lady who is suffering with a phantom pregnancy at the moment; she’s had a vet check and is on medication, as soon as the vet gives the OK, she will be spayed

We believe she will be adopted by her foster family who have fallen for her charms over the months.

Another little lady, who is just over a year old

This lady is also suffering with a phantom pregnancy, so again her spay is being delayed until the vet is happy this can go ahead

She came to us in November last year; were not very clear on her history but she has serious anxiety around food and eating; not aggression but pure fear and anxiety. We have sought behavioural and vet advice and her wonderful foster family are taking it day by day with her eating. Its been a very stressful, worrying foster for her family with her going days without eating, one step forward and two backwards with this stunning girl

They seem to have turned a corner and she is eating a little every day, so her future is bright despite the long road she has ahead of her.

The first boy in this blog

He’s around 9 years old, was surrendered late summer 2022 for being a massive escape artist and becoming grumpy with the resident human children

He’s settled really well in foster and has now been neutered so will be blogged shortly looking for his forever home so keep those eyes peeled!

This lovely girl of nearly 4 years old came to us when her previous owners were going to sell her, she hadn’t been spayed so they were happy to surrender her to us late 2022 so we could ensure she was safe and would be neutered

She needs a lot of mental stimulation and attention, she loved her voice when she first came into us, which is bigger than her confidence around new people, she is very shy and nervous

She’s still being assessed and is a work in progress, and her foster family are loving having her to stay whilst working with her.

Whilst hounds are in our care that get all medical attention they require, they are fully assessed in foster homes so we get as much information as we can before they are ready to look for their forever homes.

We will use professional behaviourists if required, only using positive reinforcement methods.  The team are on hand for the foster families 24/7.

We do everything we can to get a full picture of the hounds before they are adopted, regardless of what their back story is.

There will be further updates on the rest of the hounds over the coming days so do please pop back and have a look.

It would be amazing if you could share this blog where you can, the facebook share button is below
