Marley has settled into his foster home really well. He’s sleeping well, although waking up a few times in the night to have a wee.
He was very distressed during his transport, so it’s wonderful to see and hear he settled really quickly.
He’s investigated the house and garden, has had some wonderful plays with the resident Hound.
Today was the first day he went for a walk, we wanted him to feel safe with his foster family before going out and about. He handled it like a pro and wasn’t upset at all by any person, noise, traffic or other dog.
He’s doing so very well.
He has a vet check later this week so we can start a plan for his back legs, his teeth and ears.
In the meantime he does need some bits and pieces for a wish list. The harness he has on was donated for his transport (as well as collar, lead and slip lead so he was safe and secure), but as you can see isn’t ideal for long term use. He came with nothing so if you could donate to his wish list that would be amazing. If the list is empty all his wishes have been granted……thank you!
If you would rather donate to his care the link to do so is also below.
Thank you everyone for all the love and support you have shown Marley

This week we accepted an abandoned Hound from the Dog Warden.
Please welcome Marley into the BRNGB family and have a read of his story.
Marley was reported abandoned to the Dog Warden last weekend. They collected him and took him to their kennels to start his 7 days.
After 7 days, the Dog Warden “ legally disposes” of them if they are not claimed. That’s their words, we are sure you can fill in the blanks……
Marley was collected from inside a dirty crate, which was outside, in a yard behind some converted shops, no food or water, no shelter, just a yard, a crate and Marley. You can see his nose is sore from fighting to get out of the crate.
The person who made the call to the Warden said his name was Marley and that was all they knew.
Marley would not settle in the kennels with the Warden, was barking, scratching and was overwhelmed by the whole process. His anxiety was so high, he was prescribed drugs to help calm him down.
The Warden, thankfully, reached out to us and asked if we could look after him in a home for the rest of his 7 days, he was still an abandoned dog within their system but he needed out of the kennels. Of course we said yes and we are so grateful to one of our fosters who collected Marley and took him into their home and hearts.
Marley has proved to be a very loving boy, very clingy which is to be expected, wasn’t sure about the man of the house coming home after being away for a few days, but he was calmer than being in kennels.
He had a bath, had some good food, had a lot of cuddles, and a warm comfortable spot to finally rest.
The Dog Warden carried out all the checks they are obliged to do in trying to find his owner and no one has come forward for this boy. As of Saturday 31st January Marley was officially signed over to us by the Dog Warden as an abandoned dog.
We know he has really bad teeth (we did take him to a vet when he was in our care for the Warden) and he will need extractions. He has an ear infection. We know he has really weak back legs, as can be seen from the video, which will need investigation, advice and possibly some form of treatment. He has ear drops and pain killer from the vets. He will also need neutering when he is fit and settled enough. Most importantly we know that he is safe and he will be loved by you all.
Marley is now with his permanent foster where he will be full assessed, receive all the treatment he needs, and thrive in the love we are sure you will all shower him in.
Marley is under assessment and is not available for adoption, any enquiries will go unanswered.
We will keep you updated on Marley’s journey and we will be launching two fabulous raffles for his care, as well as a wish list.
Thank you to his first foster family who cared for him so well, and his transport team who moved him to his foster.
