What a journey Reggie and Frank have been on in foster. Both suffering with skin issues, both needing some dental work, and maybe a little weight off.
They’ve had a wonderful time in foster and have really thrived.
Both boys are bonded to each other and like to know where the other is.
Frank’s heart murmur didn’t need any further treatment, so he has now been neutered.
And the best news,……… their foster family couldn’t be without them and didn’t want to put them through the upheavel of being moved again, so asked to adopt them now that their vet has signed them off. Who are we to say no?
Congratulations boys, as you can see they were very excited by the news! Thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen, volunteers, donors and well wishers.

Both Reggie and Frank are doing well in foster and have settled in wonderfully.
They both need to shift a little weight. Initially they were a little too disrupted to eat, Reggie being the most unsettled. Frank however took everything in his stride with his tail wagging constantly.
Frank was reported to be suffering with alopecia and Reggie was very itchy especially under his chin.
They have both had their initial vet check.
Reggie tipped the scales at 38.6KG. He does suffer from allergies so he has been changed to Hypoallergenic food to try to clear his system, a bit like a detox and then we can work on what triggers his skin. Once the food has had a chance to work, both may need skin scrapes to see whether any further treatment for their skin is required.
Frank weighed in at 17.6KG. The vet has also recommended the same detox diet and see if that helps with his alopecia. Frank is also suffering with a heart murmur. Frank needs to be neutering, however until they have investigated his heart murmur the vet does not want him to have an anaesthetic. Frank is going for a scan tomorrow at the vets. The cost of which will be £640.00.
As you will know we do not accept any other breeds except bassets into the rescue, however as Frank and Reggie are so bonded, we couldn’t split them up and we certainly won’t be looking to seperate them at any time.
Once we have Frank’s results from his scan we will update further.
