Buddy and Skye have settled into foster life well, they’re enjoying their meals and exploring the garden.
They love their little walks around the village and have a little play together. Skye is most definitely the lazier out of the two and will happily lounge around all day.
They’ve both had their initial vet visit, Skye needs some dental work and also spaying.
Buddy is sore and suffering with some muscle wastage in his back legs. He also needs some dental work. The vet was also concerned about his testicles not being right, it appears that one seems to be hiding, possibly in his abdomen.
Buddy was booked in to have his dental work done first as his are the most urgent, however when they got to the vets this was cancelled as they discovered a strange heart murmur. Due to his age, there was a concern to put him under anaesthetic, but his poor teeth are in such bad condition they are actually making him poorly.
Buddy was discharged back to his foster family with antibiotics to try to help the infection in his mouth and he’s being booked in for a cardiac scan.
We will keep you updated on these two wonderful Hounds. It’s sad to think that they’ve finally found warmth and love away from a “breeding establishment”, and Buddy could potentially be very poorly.
If you would like to donate to their care, the link is below to do so.
Thank you everyone for your support with these two special hounds, we will make sure their retirement is happy, loving, warm and fulfilling for them.

Buddy and Skye joined the BRNGB family yesterday. Buddy will be 13 years young in July and Skye turned 10 years old in December just passed.
They are a very much bonded pair, and were rescued from the same establishment as Lulu and Pippa last weekend. We’re very grateful for the other rescue who contacted us again and asked for our help for this lovely pair.
They were used for breeding, however our information is that they only had one litter, so we believe that they are Lulu’s parents and Pippa’s grandparents.
They have just landed in their foster home after quite a long journey with a sleep over with Dawn. Although it was a long way for them to go, especially at Buddy’s age, we have a foster who loves the golden oldies, and we know it’s the best place for them to get all the love, care and comfort they will need….potentially for the rest of their lives under our wing, as we appreciate Buddy especially will be difficult to rehome due to his age and potential ailments.
His back legs are very wobbly, and if Lulu and Pippa are anything to go by they will need a good scrub, a lot of love and some good food as well as some serious worming medication.
They will be going for a vet check as soon as possible and we will get them whatever they require medically following the vet’s advice.
As always Buddy and Skye are under assessment, we will not be splitting them up as they do rely upon each other; at present any enquires regarding adoption will go unanswered.
Buddy and Skye were gifted lots of lovely items from their transport team, which we are very grateful for, so right now they do not need a wish list. However if you would like to support Buddy and Skye you can do so using the link below, or buy a raffle ticket for a wonderful 2 night stay at Elm Grove Country House.
Thank you so much for your support with all of our hounds.
