You will recall Barry joined the BRNGB family in Feburary this year at 9 years old.
Warning there are some graphic photos
At Barry’s vet check it was discovered that not only does Barry have a heart murmour, but he also has bilateral cataracts with visual impairments. We were previously aware of issues with Barry’s eyes and he has had treatment for them.
The examination also revealed abnormal eyelid conformation with lower-lid ectropion and upper eyelid entropion. This caused the eyelashes to grow into the eye, scratch the eyes causing severe pain and potential blindess
We have inlcuded Barry’s clinical summary below.
We received an estimate for the surgery in the region of £3,000.00 – £4,000.00.
We are pleased to confirm Barry had his surgery last Thursday and is back with his wonderful foster family recovering.
Photos post surgery are below – please be aware they are distressing
Barry is having regular eye drops as his eyes heal and he will be having a check up next week to see how the healing is progressing. He is suffering with inflamation around his eyes but he is coping really well and is still his happy self. His foster family are in contact with the specialist who are happy with the recovery at present.
