Please give a huge welcome to 8-year-old Betsie, who is just the cutest little bundle. š¶š

Betsie arrived with us last weekend and has already had quite the first week in foster, including an unexpected trip to the emergency vet.
She absolutely adores people, and has already chosen her favourite human ā her foster dad. Poor foster mum has been firmly placed in the āspare humanā category for now! Betsieās favourite activity is sitting on your feetā¦ whether you need to use them or not.
After sadly losing her companion in her previous home, Betsie is really enjoying having a foster sibling to snuggle up with again.
She also loves her walks, but just like Betsie herself ā theyāre short and fast!
Now for that emergency vet visit.
The other night Betsie became very restless, and her foster dad stayed up with her through the night. By morning her paw had become incredibly swollen, so off to the vet they went.
During the journey, the swelling actually burst. Betsie was admitted for the day as she was completely non-weight-bearing, and the paw was so swollen and sore that the vet couldnāt properly examine it at first.
After receiving pain relief and sedation, the vet was able to take a closer look. The hole in her paw was flushed out and checked carefully for a foreign body. Thankfully there was nothing stuck inside, and Betsie was diagnosed with an interdigital cyst.
She came home the very same day sporting the cutest little bandage.
A couple of days later Betsie returned for a check-up and the vet was delighted with how well it had healed. The bandage could come off, although she still needs twice-daily bathing while it continues to recover.
Throughout everything, Betsie has remained her happy, cheerful self. She truly is a wonderful lady and an absolute joy to have in foster.
Betsie only has a very small wishlist:
ā¢ A treat ball so she can enjoy chopped veggies (which will also help her lose a little weight)
ā¢ A new bed ā although Betsie does have one, she has completely fallen in love with her foster siblingās bed and hasnāt even glanced at her own! A similar one would make her very happy.
