2025 saw 42 bassets and 1 bonded sausage surrendered to the BRNGB family, 25 of them in the first 6 months, and the youngest being under 6 months old.
6 of the bassets were surrendered under the full rescue back up offered by BRNGB.
We’ve had multiple facelift operations, two TECA surgeries, hernia and full scrotum removal surgery, dentals, spaying, behaviourists on board. Everyone of these hounds have had a general health check, flea and worming treatments; multiple have required specialist food, shampoo and skin care treatments. We still have surgeries booked in for some of the hounds who arrived in 2025 which will take place early 2026.
Our financial year ends on the 30th September; during the last financial year our total income, which is purely from donations, was £60,632 with an expenditure, which is purely on hounds being £77,165. We are incredibly lucky that we have funds in our accounts to cover any shortfall. Trust us these funds are not vast and certainly not sustainable without fundraising and the amazing love and support we have from you all.
As 2025 comes to an end we would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you who has supported us in any way, donations, gifts for the hounds, sharing our posts, telling people about us. It doesn’t matter how you support us, the fact that you do is just fabulous.
We also must thank our foster, transporter and home checker volunteers. Without you all those 43 hounds wouldn’t be where they are now.
To all of you who have adopted a BRNGB hound, thank you for giving a Hound a second chance of love and a family.
Finally, a huge thank you must go to Sam Morgan, the woman behind BRNGB who had the idea 13 years or so ago to start a rescue which became BRNGB. Just shy of 720 hounds have been part of the BRNGB family since then. Sam has recently stood down as being the Chair, she is still a huge part of the rescue and a Trustee, and we are so grateful for her idea all that time ago, as will be all the hounds helped. The new Chair is Jo Bloyce.
Thank you everyone who has supported us and all of our hounds.
We wish you all a wonderful Christmas, and a peaceful New Year.
With love and thanks from us all and the “Hounds of 2025”
Sam M, Sam S, Jo and Dawn
