Meet Lyla.  This beautiful girl originally came into the BRNGB family in April 2018.  Our very own Dawn travelled over to Ireland to collect her from her family who could no longer look after her.

She went into foster, and had a few foster homes as her needs were specific; she was adopted but sadly was returned back into our care in April 2019.

She went into foster and was so loved, her foster mommy adopted her.

Sadly her new mummy has recently become poorly so Lyla found her way back to the BRNGB family through our full rescue back up programme and has spent her first week with her new foster family.

Here’s Lyla on her first ever transport run into the BRNGB family

Why a bucket list?

Lyla has only been back with us since the 18th June.  When we first saw her again, we thought she had put on a little weight so her wonderful foster parents arranged a vet check, and they suggested some scans.

We are devastated to say, the news is not good for our lovely lady Lyla.  At 10 years old, the wonderful team at Bramble and Bear Vet Care found a large cavernous mass which appears to be attached to her liver.  This is more than likely a haemangiosarcoma or haemangioma.  They believe this due to it’s appearance.  These are tumours of blood vessels and usually bleed slowly over time, finally suddenly rupturing.

Sadly they have given Lyla a few months to enjoy her life, and get every ounce of love she can get.  The wonderful vet team are contactable any time of night or day should Lyla need them.

How can you help?

We would like to give Lyla the best last few months of her life.   She will remain with her foster family, who will provide all the love and care Lyla needs and deserves.

However, we want to give her:-

– every treat she’s ever imagined

– a raised day bed so she can lounge in the garden in comfort

– a day out at the local lake, she loves being outside and we believe she will love this

– every Happy Meal she desires

– a pamper spa day

– some new toys so when she feels like playing she has some new goodies to play with

– any treatment she requires to keep her happy and comfortable for the rest of her days

We are of course open to suggestions to anything you think she would like or you would like to donate towards.

Here she is enjoying life as a BRNGB hound again

Angela and Chris, her foster  family, would like to say

This girl will be so loved, thank you for giving us the opportunity to foster her.  Her final days will be spent enjoying life

Can you help make all of Lyla’s dreams come true?
