Tilly who arrived with Alfie has done so well in foster.

She has been spayed without any complications.

Tilly was suffering badly with an ear infection, with a round of treatment at the vets this has now cleared up and she’s been given the all clear.

She has also needed some dental work, which caused some disproval on Tilly’s part.  I mean who on earth decided that a basset doesn’t have breakfast the morning of going to the dentist?? Tilly was also quite nervous and although not being sick was getting into a bit of a state at being left at the vets, so a lot of love and some anti sickness medication helped her be brave.  One tooth extracted and she was back home as if nothing had happened!

And the best news for Tilly is that her foster family have decided she needs to stay with them forever.  Yes folks, Tilly has found her forever and has been officially adopted.

Thank you to all of Tilly’s supporters, we are so very lucky to have you all helping us rescue the hounds and place them with fosterers who love and care for them until they find their forever homes, be that where they are or elsewhere.

Thank you also to Tilly’s transport team who moved her to her initial emergency foster and then onto her forever foster.

Congratulations Tilly, no more breeding for you or moving around.

June 2024

It’s been a busy few months for Tilly.  Becuase both her and Alfie were entire when they arrived in our care they were swiftly split and moved to seperate foster homes….we certainly don’t want another little of bassets.

Tilly has settled well without Alfie and has had her vet check.  She’s had her initial vaccinations done, and thankfully the healthcheck revealed no major issues.

She’s a touch overweight at 25.8 kilos, would like her to drop to 25 kilos before spaying which is booked for early July.

Also said build up on teeth was just starting to show slight inflammation, scale and polish recommended to avoid future issues which we will get arranged for her.

The vet believes that she’s had 3 litters which is sad considering her age.

Tilly is currenlty on holiday with her foster family and getting herself into all sorts of bother getting stuck in gates!  But she’s having a blast and enjoying her favorite past-time of eating sausages….well on holiday calories don’t count right?

31st March 2024

Tilly who is 2 years old (3 in April) arrived with her brother Alfie on the 30th March.

We don’t know alot about Tilly, but she does take a lot of comfort from having Alfie about.  TIlly has more white on her (see photo’s in the gallery below)

She, like Alfie, is child friendly, likes to beg when the humans are eating and is happy to go for walks, and snuggle on the sofa.

Tilly likes to have a snuggle and cuddle with either Alfie or a human and is a content little girl.

Tilly will be at the vets for her health check ASAP and we will update as her assessment continues.
