Well nearly a year since Hector re-joined the BRNGB family we are so pleased to announce his adoption.
It’s been a long time in the making as Hector has been battling a bad ear infection for a lot of that time. We are happy that a consistent treatment has finally paid off and Hector’s ears are doing a lot better.
There was also concerns over his weight and we are so pleased to see that a strict diet regime has been implemented, special diet food and controlled treats together with a good excercise plan has started to show a massive difference in Hector’s weight and we are sure this will continue with his forever family.
Hector has now officially been adopted by his foster family. We are really grateful for all the work they have put in with Hector’s ears and realising the importance of his weight and working hard to get him down a pound or two, much to his disgust!
So for the second time, congratulations Hector, you have landed on your paws and we couldn’t be happier.
We look forward to watching you continue to not grow and enjoy your life!
Thank you to everyone involved in Hector’s journey, transporters, donators and supporters.

Hector is still working on his diet and we are hopeful that now he is having vet recommended diet food this will help.
He really does need to get some weight off so he doens’t have issues with his joints and back as he gets older. He’s a real foodie so his foster family are being very strict with him and we are keeping an eye on him as well as regular weigh in’s at the vet.
His ears are now all cleared up so with regular maintenance of these we believe the infection is now being managed well and shouldn’t flare up again.
Come on Hector lets get that weight off so we can get you adopted with your own family, who we suspect will be your foster family.
June 2024
Well the summer body isn’t quite ready for Hector, but it’s a work in progress which he’s suffering through.
His ears are also a concern still and we are still battling this with assistance from the vet.
Hector has also decided that he doesn’t like sharing so is being fed away from his foster sibling and any treats need to be quick to eat so the opportunity of a punch up isn’t given.
He’s still a wonderful boy to be around and enjoying life.
Hopefully we will have a more positive update soon about his ears and weight.
Updated 1st April 2024
Well Hector’s ear seems to have cleared up well and he’s back at the vets this week for a check up and also his final round of vaccinations.
His weight has crept up and his foster mum is working hard to get that back down so there’s no issues with his mobility, he’s not impressed with his diet but we keep telling him it’s for his own good!
Hector is in foster with Tina (now Skye) who arrived in our care in a terrible state with Bobby (later named Blu); Hector’s foster mum adopted them both, sadly Blu passed away and Hector is proving to be a great comfort to Skye.
Hector can be antsy with dogs outside the home, which we are working on getting to the bottom of.
All in all he’s a happy lad (apart from the diet) and he’s being just as lovely as he was the first time he was in foster with the BRNGB family.
Update 6th February 2024
Sadly Hector’s ear is still causing concern, when he arrived he had issues and wasn’t keen on it being cleaned.
He’s been back and forth the vet with this, and now the decision has been made that he has an ear flush. There is definately a nasty infection in there and we need to get to the bottom of it before he is adopted.
We are hoping that treatment will resolve the issue, however there is the potential that surgery may be required.
Apart from his ear, he does suffer every now and then with his shoulder, but he is a very happy loving boy.
His foster family are looking to get a few pounds off him as he’s a little “chunky” and we need that rectified so he doesn’t have further joint issues in the future.
There is a nasty photo of his ear in his gallery – you’ve been warned.
Update
Hector’s ear is still very sore but he is taking his medication like a pro; he’s not so keen on this being cleaned so his foster family are building up his trust and doing a little at a time. It’s a battle worth fighting and we are slowly winning.
He needs his vaccinations updating, and maybe a little weight off but all in all he’s being a wonderful boy, as you can see from the photos in his gallery he’s quite the relaxed boy who enjoys his cuddles, his walks and belly rubs
Hector joined the BRNGB family early November.
He’s an original BRNGB boy who first joined us in 2020. He has an issue with his ear which we will be getting treatment for. He’s settled well into foster life and is proving to be a very happy boy.
