I’ve never had to start a pink sofa with an apology.

Obi joined the family just before our Christmas shut down; his own page was totally overlooked on our website, my apologies Obi.

His foster family have been wonderful with Obi; and Obi has been described to be “totally awesome”, even the bin raiding and pool noddle theft!

Obi slotted into foster family life really well and loved having the company of the resident hounds, beach walks, garden zoomies, and joining his family happily whilst they were in the toilet! He takes his family supervision very seriously. Not too much fan of the postman, and has a wonderful baying voice!

So the apology….

Obi’s family loved having him with them so much and adored him and his funny ways, they actually adopted him in February 2026. Due to personal reasons I totally overlooked his pink sofa.

Pink Sofa’s are not only to celebrate a hound being adopted, but the work that the foster family have undergone to get the hound ready for their forever home, a thank you to the volunteers and donators who supported the hound; and of course so their original family will know they have their happy ever after.

To overlook a pink sofa is not acceptable, and I am truly sorry to all who have supported and loved Obi.

Obi, you have had a wonderful previous life, how you reacted to being in foster showed this; Obi’s foster family you have done wonderfully with him, loved him and just couldn’t see him leave.

So congratulations to you and Obi, thank you so much

14th December 2025

6 year old Obi joined the family yesterday. He is under assessment so please no enquiries regarding adoption as these will go unanswered.

We are officially closed for Christmas, but we will never say no to an emergency, and sadly Obi was one. Obi’s family had a very sudden and unexpected change in circumstances and they had no alternative but to reach out to us; heart breaking decision for all involved.

Obi is doing well, he does suffer with separation anxiety and he is following his foster family around and wants to be close to them as possible, which is totally understandable in these early hours and days. Don’t be fooled though he’s made himself perfectly at home, writhing around on the sofa in pure after dinner bliss; having lots of cuddles in front of the TV and generally taking everything in at his own pace. He’s had a little play with the resident dog and is doing well.

Obi doesn’t need much, just a new bowl but we’ve added some grain free treats as he missed out on the Foster Christmas treat bag donations. If you are able to donate to his wish list we would be grateful. If the list is empty all wishes have been granted.

If you would rather donate to Obi’s care the link is also below, as well as the link to this month’s raffle (which ends on the 15th December).

Thank you so much for your continued support and welcoming Obi
