Meet Maude’s in her forever family’s words
Maude came into my life on the 19th of January 2015 courtesy of BRNGB and we’ve never looked back!
She was just 14 months old and already she knew what she wanted. My beautiful Bavarian Mountain Hound Tallie would often look at me in the coming months wondering when I was going to return this sassy little madam, but of course she was here for the long haul.
I quickly learnt that you cannot tell Maude that she needs to do something, instead you have to ask her if it’s okay. Even our vet has had to tow the line with this!
She used to have a reasonable recall until one day she managed to get into some private land through a fox hole and was in there for a little over three hours. Tallie and I had no choice but to sit outside and wait until Maude decided to come out. I swear she only came back because there was no spit left in her mouth and she needed a drink. Since then she’s constantly on the lookout for an adventure.
After three years she suddenly started singing, with Tal as her backing singer and it was joyous.
She lost her big sister 10 months ago which made her very sad but she now has two rescue Poodles to boss about as we have relocated to East Sussex and moved in with my daughter and son-in-law. Both Poodles are very eager backing singers so Maude’s life is complete.
Maude can be a complex lady but she’s my complex lady and I love her to bits
