In the near 10 years of being a Rescue and then a Resgitered Charity we have never increased our adoption fees.
As we all know the cost of everything has increased, including vet bills. We have therefore had to make the decision to increase our adoption fees by £50.00 per age bracket of the hounds. This does not in any way cover the increase of the vet fees which each dog incurs when they come to us, but we want to remain affordable to families who wish to give a home to a rescue basset.
We have thought long and hard about this; we’ve been putting off the increase for at least 12 months, but we are unable to delay it any longer.
We’ve looked at other Registered Charities and believe we are on par with others, and in most cases still below the average adoption fees.
We truly hope this does not put anyone off adopting from us, but as a charity we need to be able to keep our doors open to all bassets that need us, and this will go a long way in doing that.
Our adoptoin fees are now
- Hounds under 18 months – £275
- Hounds 18 months – £200
- Hounds over 8 – £130
- Bonded pair – £300
- Bonded pair over 8 – £200
