Update 5th May 2024

We are so very pleased and happy to announce Indie has found her forever home.

From the little lady who came back to us so sad and worried after the devastating loss of her human mum, she rushed down the garden path to meet her new family yesterday and fell in love with them, as they did her.

After a very sucessful meet and greet Indie went home with them, and we are sure she is going to have her happy ever after.

Thank you to all of Indie's volunteers and supporters.  A special thank you goes to her foster parents, who we know are heartbroken that she has moved on, but they chose Indie's forever happiness over their own.

Have a wonderful life Indie

Update 1st April 2024 - Indie is now looking for her forever home

Some will remember that Indie started her journey with BRNGB back in September 2021, she was adopted by her foster family and loved life. Sadly her mum passed away and her family needed Indie to be happy again, they made the heartbreaking decision that Indie came back to BRNGB.

Indie came back into foster in November 2023. She has been the perfect house guest while here. Indie is fully house trained lets you know when she needs to go outside.

Indie loves being outside will potter about in the garden and sits watching the world go by. Indie has lived with 3 cats whilst here all will lie together having a snuggle. At her previous home she lived with chickens.

Indie is fab to walk, and walks wonderfully on lead with no pulling. She can be a little grumpy with other dogs when out and about hence why she’ s best being the only dogs in the home. She can be a little reactive when on walks, but she soon calms down and can be distracted away from other dogs. She is much better with smaller dogs than large dogs.

Indie adores her food and treats and has been known to steal the cat’s food if she can get to is!

No aggression regarding food or toys with the humans being involved.

She has recently had an operation removing some lumps and bumps which have not raised any concern once tested. She .has got a couple more but the vet said they are of no concern. Indie doesn’t like the vets much but she’s not a problem, just would rather not be there. The only time she would need to go to the vet is to have her nails cut. Her foster parents did try once but she’s very scared and it was causing more stress to her, she sulked for days and took herself off to sleep with the cats, Indie’s nails have therefore been cut under sedation since.

Indie doesn’t use a dog bed so she’s a sofa surfer and loves too sleep with you in bed. She doesn’t move all night gets up when you get up. She gives the most amazing cuddles will follow you everywhere. If you’re upset she will sit with you licking your ears until you’re happy,

She adores people and children will stop them when out on walks for a fuss, Indie can be left alone for a couple of hours, but be warned she will go upstairs and rearrange the pillows and go to sleep in your bed until you come back,

Indie may be 10 years old she certainly loves life.

Indie has been a joy to foster the house will be quiet without her. So if Indie is the girl for you please give her a chance.

Indie needs:

- Someone home a lot of the time, Indie can be left for a couple of hours but she just loves human interaction

- Can live with cats and has lived with chickens in the past

- Children to be over 6 years old and dog savvy

- Someone who is happy for Indie to share their sofa/bed

- Someone who understands Indie's fear of bigger dogs and will work with her using positive reinforcement

- Someone who will be home most of the time in the initial few weeks to help settle Indie into her forever home

Taking on a rescue dog is not the easy option. You need to be prepared to help a confused and troubled hound find their place in your family. They have been through a massive upheaval and will need time to settle into a new way of life, so please consider this BEFORE you fill in an application.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

Indie is subject to an adoption fees and a successful home check. If your home check is successful, your family including dogs will need to be able to travel to her foster home to meet her foster family.

You will also have a telephone call with a member of the team, plus Indie's foster family, so that all of her history can be shared with you in person, and that we can be assured that you can fill all of her needs, demands and requirements.

Indie comes with 5 weeks free insurance via our rehoming partner, Agria.

Indie as with all of our hounds will have full rescue back up for life.

Thank you for reading Indie's blog. Please share where you are able

Update 6th Feburary 2024

Indie has some lumps and bumps which needed to be removed, the surgery had been delayed as she managed to get a UTI.

We're pleased to say however the surgery was completed yesterday and Indie is back home recovering (check our her cute bandage in her photo gallery)

She's such a character, her foster mum tried to cut her nails the other day.....that was a big nope!  An even bigger nope was when it came to bed time she took herself off to the spare room to sleep with the cats instead of her foster family!

We will update on Indie's recovery soon

Indie was origianlly part of the BRNGB family back in September 2021; sadly she is back with us after the sad loss of her mummy.

She's doing well, she's getting all the love she needs right now whilst she settles into foster life

Update

Indie is a sad girl which is understandable as she was totally devoted to her mum.

She is coming out of her shell, but she needs to find her feet in the world at her own pace.  Her foster family are with her all the time and reassure her all is well.  They are the perfect family to help Indie find her place and be comfortable with the world again.

She even sleeps with the cat!!
