We started fostering for BRNGB several years ago, Neville was our first and after several weeks it was clear that he'd made himself at home so we adopted him.
Then came Charlie; he'd been neglected so we cleaned him up and he was adopted but wouldn't settle in his new home. As BRNGB offer a full rescue back up, we took him back into our home as a foster . We just couldn't put him through the process again, we loved him dearly so we adopted him. He's still nervous of strangers but loves his family.
While Charlie was away we fostered Bella, our first Basset cross, she immediately captured our hearts and she became our latest addition, sadly Bella passed away due to cancer.
Lastly, I also volunteer as a transporter, I was part of a transport run for Ruby, another Basset cross and fell in love with her so when she came up for adoption we jumped at the chance of adopting her; we thankfully were successful and she came to home us and has never looked back.
Four BRNGB hounds, all happy and settled in their forever homes for the rest of their lives. Sadly some lives are shorter than others.
Thank you to the foster family, a lot of our fosters are long standing families, we wouldn't be able to do what we do without these wonderful volunteers.
Thank you for sharing your foster journey and your hounds with us
