Wonderful Wednesday

This week's wonderful Wednesday is a hound who is so very close to our hearts; one who sent shock waves through our BRNGB family; one who was one of the reasons Coffee for Bassets was born.

Some of you will remember Chevy from back in 2018.  He arrived in our family as an emergency surrender.  The lady who found him told hia foster family upon collection this:-

** said he was at a house with a couple of druggies. He was up for sale for £50. She said she'd give them £30 but she'd be taking the dog regardless. They agreed and said they would probably only have got that if they had out him in a fighting ring anyway!!! He was tied up by both of his back legs when she got him off them yesterday.

The lady in question contacted us as soon as she had Chevy safe and surrendered him to us.  Of course we did some digging, checked his chip etc.  What we found was a copule of days prior of the lady hearing about Chevy was that he was advertised free to a good home on Gum Tree, we can only assume that the people who were paid £30 for him saw the advert and thought that he would make them some money. He had no legal owner, but at least he now had us.

Chevy needed cherry eye surgery, he needed neuturing, training and a love, he needed love so very very much.

Here's Chevy on his first night in foster

And of course we now have an update from his wonderful family who adopted him way back in 2018

Chevy came to live with our family and 9 yr old Viszla in Windsor in 2018.

He soon made himself at home... on the sofa on the chairs and even on the sun loungers!!

Last year we moved to Devon and Chevy soon made himself known around the village with his gorgeous good looks and loud Bassett bark!

We love him so much, he's so loyal and affectionate and has brought us so much joy since we adopted him.

Someone even made me a "Chevy" birthday cake although not sure what Chevy thought of that!!

We are so pleased to have been part of Chevy's journey to his happy ever after.  From a hound who was going to be used as a bait dog, to living the absolute dream from Royal Windsor to beautiful Devon.

Thank you to his foster family; his supporters, his donators, but most of all his family for loving him and keeping him safe and happy.

Chevy is one of the main reasons Coffee for Bassets was born, and it's hounds like him you will be helping on Friday 31st May.

We have the privilege of adopting Dylan. The whole process was seamless and very reassuring that they cover all bases, both in relation to vetting us and also in the assessment of the hound
