Maisie joined the BRNGB family back in October. As soon as she arrived it was apparent that she had issues with her skin and a few lumps and bumps that needed to be looked into.
Her skin has really improved and in the last few weeks she has undergone tests on her lumps.
On the 10th December she went to have her poorly ears flushed and her dental. The hope was that she would also have her lumps investigated. A needle aspiration on the lump on her face was undertaken and thankfully this has come back clear.
The lump on her foot however was more of a mystery.
When the vet went in to investigate, they found it was full of cystic puss. As the vet went to remove this they discovered it was full of coffee milkshake type substance which was horrible she said there was also crusting and hair inside which she didn't expect at all.
The vet had to stop the operation as Maisie's body temperature was dropping drastically. The mass had shrunk and the vet wanted Maisie to go back in a week to complete the surgery.
Masie was left with a hole in her foot which allowed this to continue draining.
Maisie returned to the vet on the 20th after getting the amazing news that the lump on her face and that on her foot were both benign cysts. Although her foot was chronically inflamed there was no bacteria present causing any infection so the final surgery to remove the mass on both her foot and face could go ahead. The vet also removed one tooth and some lumps from her side at the same time.
Maisie is home and recovering very well.
We are so very grateful to her vets who have a fund in place for charities and Masie had a substantial reduction to her bill which totalled at £1130.17. The second surgery was also not charged for so a big thank you to Cibyn Vet Clinic and of course Maisie's foster mum for giving her so much care during her recovery.
Thank you to all who have donated to Maisie, if you would like to donate to her surgery bill the link to do so is below.
