Sad news about our girl Daisy

So as many of you will know Daisy, out lovely Basset x Bull Dog, had her meet and greet last weekend.  Sadly it didn't go as planned.......

Her first meet and greet a few months ago was cancelled by her prospective new owner saying "I can't be bothered" when we pressed for a firm date for the meet and greet and they kept changing it..........this time.........

Although Daisy is in foster with  a basset and a lab who she plays with and is happy with (although doesn't know what "no go away" means at times!) she, heartbreakingly, wasn't very happy meeting who was going to be her new doggy sibling.

Thankfully no harm was done, but it does mean that Daisy is back looking for her forever home.

DAISY's NEEDS

As you can see Daisy is a very cuddly hound, she loves her people and loves getting on laps to join in with everything you are trying to do.

She LOVES being outside, she enjoys her walks, she will liiterally go forever

She travels well in the car

She can be excited meeting other dogs outside on walks but once she has said hello she's happy to go off and carry on with her adventures

She's happy to play with toys on her own and likes to scatter them around the house and garden

She has not been cat tested or small furry tested

NOW THE DIFFERENCE IN HER ORIGINAL BLOG AND THIS ONE

Daisy was an only hound before she came to us, and although she is happy with the resident hounds, she has difficulty learning boundaries, she wasn't welcoming to who was going to be her new hound sibling so we have decided Daisy NEEDS to be an only hound again with playful friends to meet up with.

We have added Daisy's original blog below, but please please remember, we are now looking for a DOG FREE home for Daisy

If you fit Daisy's requirements the link to the adoption form is below as well

Daisy's needs:-

  • An active family who are willing to put in the excercise and continued lead training needs
  • Any children need to be dog savvy and older than 6 years old
  • Patience and time to spend with Daisy in the crucial first few weeks as she adapts to her forever home.
  • BRNGB will of course assist with positive reinforcement training if Daisy's new family wish us to
  • A family where someone is home most of the time
  • A family who understand hounds and their needs
  • No small furries, cats, chickens etc, we are not sure on Daisy's prey drive wouldn't want any accidents
  • No resident dog, but playful doggy friends to meet up with

Taking on a rescue dog is not the easy option. You need to be prepared to help a confused and troubled hound find their place in your family. They have been through a massive upheaval and will need time to settle into a new way of life, so please consider this BEFORE you fill in an application.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

Daisy is subject to an adoption fees and a successful home check. If your home check is successful, your family including dogs will need to be able to travel to their foster home to meet her and her foster family.

You will also have a telephone call with a member of the team, plus Daisy's foster family, so that all of her history can be shared with you in person, and that we can be assured that you can fill all of their needs, demands and requirements.

Daisy comes with 5 weeks free insurance via our rehoming partner, Agria.

Daisy, as with all of our hounds will have full rescue back up for life.

Thank you for reading Daisy's blog. Please share where you are able

They do a good job of saving these hounds and finding special homes for life. They also work hard to raise money to pay for any vet bills.

We have the privilege of adopting Dylan. The whole process was seamless and very reassuring that they cover all bases, both in relation to vetting us and also in the assessment of the hound
