Well the lttle potato is growing rapidly! His last weigh in he was 16.8KG.
Thankfully his tail is still intact which we are all so very pleased about. It will need monitoring but the vet is happy that no further intervention is required at this time. It could be that as his tail is forever wagging so he just hurt the old break a litte.
He's growing in confidence, plays well with his spaniel brother. Loves exploring the outside world and is generally a happy boy.
He's hit the hormone stage, and if anything stays still long enough it gets a little Winston loving. At only 7 months old he is way too young to have his "little op" so he is learning what "off" and away" means from both humans and his favorit spaniel!
When young hounds come in to the BRNGB family we try to place them with a foster who will be looking to adopt so the young hound is not moved around, at Winston's age is was really important to have him settled and for him to grow and learn consistently. We were so lucky to have his foster family who were willing to live through the young puppy stages, which from the outside look really cute, but any of us that have lived through those stages know how hard they can be. The land shark stages, the teething, the toilet training, the walk training....the list is endless.
So we are really pleased to announce that Winston has found his forever home. He will not be leaving his foster family who have officially adopted Winston.
Of course, BRNGB will be responsible for his operation when he is older and ready, and we are looking forward to watching our little potato continue to grow.
Massive thank you to Winston's epic transport team, his first who dropped evrything to go and get him at a moments notice and kept him safe for the first couple of days; to everyone who has supported Winston by asking after him and donations. He really is a very lucky boy to have you all supporting him.
Have a wonderful life Winston, we'll be watching from afar and enjoying your adventures.

A long overdue update on our favorite little potato Winston!
He's fully vaccinated now, and he is certainly enjoying the big wide world and is exploring happily. He's been on holiday, investigtaed a steam train, met a giant polar bear, he still snuggles up and sleeps with his elephant which arrived with him. He's nearly the same size as it now! He's very polite with everyone and anyone he meets, if he's not sure he hangs back a little until he finds his confidence
He's recently been to the vet as his skin has flared up, could well be because he's now venturing out and about; he's weighing in at a very respectable 13KG now, he was 9.4KG on his first vet visit. He's been recommended some medicated wipes for his skin and shampoo to help with his skin.
He enjoys games of bitey face, and once he's had his limit on walks he's carried or bundled into a back pack so his legs and joints can have a rest. He's a total mischief maker and when he's awake he will get up to and into anything within his reach, typical puppy basset.
He was taken to the vet about his skin, but mainly because of his tail. You may recall there was an obvious healed in his tail when he arrived, it's quite close to the base. Initially this was not causing him any concern, but his foster family noticed recently that he was showing signs of pain if he laid on it awkwardly, of if it was touched. The notes from the examination are below. It appears that the tail is not straight and is possible that the break has dislocated, or it hadn't healed as originally thought. We will be having X-rays on the tail and at present Winston is on pain relief and his foster family are being very careful, trying to keep his tail safe. Hopefully the X-rays will show that his tail can be set, rather than the option of amputation which has been discussed.
Once we have the X-Rays we will update you, we are really hopeful his beautiful little tail can be saved.
Meanwhile if you would like to donate to Winston's vet costs, the link is below, or you can buy a ticket for this months raffle.
Fingers and toes crossed for the little potato's tail!
Enjoy the photos and videos!

We know you are all dying to know how baby boy Winston is doing!
Well, he's moved to his permenant foster; you may recall he was an emergency surrender so he spent a few nights in a temporary foster. He moved last weekend to a family who has a resident spaniel who he is begining to win round! He also has basset family who he will meet up with.
Winston has been to the vets and has had his final vaccinations so is now ready to take on the big wide world. Although Winston came with lots of toys, he does need his own "equipment" so he can start to venture outside so we have a little wish list for him. Obviously he will grow out of most things quite quickly so we will be recycling anything donated via our Vinted page. If the list is empty all of his wishes have come true.
We have also included a donation page where you can donate to Winston's care if you would rather or you can enter the raffle to win up to £200.00 Amazon vouchers. The link is also below.
Now, although Winston was given a clean bill of health at his vet check, he has a kink in his tail which we believe was broken at some point in his short life. This could have happened when he was born, or a litter mate stepped on him. The vet is not concerned as it does not cause any issues, but we are to keep an eye on this.
His weight matches his little pot belly at 9.4kg. Looking at the size of his paws he'll be adding digits to that weight soon enough.
Thank you to everyone who has enquried about Winston; as always though, he is under assessment so we will not be responding to any enquiries regarding his adoption at this time.
Enjoy the puppy photos and little video and thank you as always for your support for all of our hounds

Winston arrived in the BRNGB family two days ago as an emergency. Winston is only 4 months old and just adorable.
Winston is under assessment and not ready to be adopted, any enquiries regarding him will go unanswered.
Winston's owners contacted us and asked us to take him in as the breeder had stopped responding to them and they didn't feel they were the right family for him. They really wanted him moved and settled elsewhere as soon as physically possible.
We arranged for one of our long standing transporters and adopters to collect Winston and they currently have him as a temporary foster until we can move Winston to his permenant foster which will happen in the next few days.
Winston doesn't need anything at the moment, but we are sure as he grows he will need some more bits and pieces. You can if you wish donate to Winston's care, or buy a raffle ticket to be in with the chance of winning up to £200 of Amazon vouchers. Links for both are below.
Winston had a very settled night with the resident dogs, one of which is a lovely BRNGB hound.
In the meantime, please enjoy Winston's many faces as he poses up a storm!
Huge thank you to the transporter who dropped everything to collect Winston yesterday, you really are amazing.
