12th November 2025

Well finally Winter has had a season and we’ve been able to get a day for her spaying, we’ve been waiting a long time for this, so maybe a little bit of a celebration was had! She will be going in just after the New Year.

Meanwhile, both girls are doing really well in foster. They love their foster dad and sulk when he is at work. Both adore to be outside, in their previous home they had a lot of open space to enjoy so we are pleased they still have this. Lily spent an hour in the garden watching paragliders, totally transfixed.

Both girls enjoy their sleep, having a nice snuggle under the duvet, or can be found twitching the curtains keeping an eye on the neighbours.

They enjoy a game of bitey face, and the poor cat gets involved in their shenanigans, whether he likes it or not, or they use him as a pillow. The resident parrots new saying is “leave the cat alone!”

Winter is happy to have her nails trimmed, although Lily is a lot more nervous so that will require a vet’s assistance. She also suffered with the recent fireworks, and spent most of the time refusing to go outside in the dark.

All in all the girls are doing really well and are continuing to thrive.

Thank you to everyone for their continued support. Once Winter’s operation has been completed, the girls will be ready for the next chapter.

If you’d like to donate to their care and Winter’s surgery the link to do so is below.

19th September 2025

Please welcome Lily and Winter back into the BRNGB family.

Some of you may remember these beautiful girls. Lily (Lace ear) joined the family originally back in the summer of 2020, and Winter back in the summer of 2024

Both were adopted by the lovely Jan and Graham.

Sadly Jan lost her incredibly brave battle to illness early this year. Devastatingly Graham also passed away after a short illness very recently Both were huge parts of BRNGB, transporting, fostering and adopting these two beautiful girls.

Under the BRNGB adoption back up, we were contacted by Jan and Graham’s family and asked to take the girls back, in the hope that Graham would make a full recovery, sadly this was not the case.

Lily is now 6 years old and Winter is just shy of 2 years old. Both girls are very much bonded to each other and we knew they could not be split.

The girls have been back with us since the beginning of September.

They’ve had their vet check. Finally, we have been waiting for this since Winter originally joined the family, she has come into season. She was adopted by Graham and Jan under a neuter agreement and we’ve been waiting all this time! She will be spayed as soon as she can be (at least another 12 weeks). She also sadly has an ear infection which she has treatment for.

We always knew Winter may have an issue with her eyes, again Graham and Jan were waiting for her to be fully grown before a decision was made as to whether any surgery was required, under the suggestion of vets.

Lily on the other hand is perfect and is bouncing around happily.

Both girls have come back to BRNGB with open arms and they have really settled in quickly. We know Graham and Jan will be looking down on them and know that they are loved and happy.

Neither girls need a wish list, their naughty foster mum got them some new beds and bowls. However if you could donate a little to their care and Winter’s upcoming surgery we would be grateful. The link to do so is below

Thank you everyone for your continued support for not only these girls but all the Hounds in our care.

Thank you to Lily and Winter’s transport team, emergency foster and foster family – we hope this post brings some comfort to Jan and Graham’s family.
