Updated 1st April 2024

We are so pleased to announce that after over a year in foster, the loss of both of her eyes Doris has now been adopted by her wonderful foster family.

You will remember Doris came to us with both of her eyes, she sadly had one removed soon after her arrival and her wonderful family fought hard with treatment to save her other eye.  Devastatingly it couldn't be saved and her remaining eye was also removed.

Her family have spent so much time, effort and money on training Doris after she lost her sight, as well as their other hounds so they could all help each other.  Believe it or not, Doris now actually alerts her parents when one of the other hound is about to have a seizure.

She has overcome the loss of her sight wonderfully, and we are so very proud of her and our hearts are bursting with the knowledge that her foster parents are now her parents.

Thank you so very much for taking this girl into your home, for fighting with her, for loving her and for now adopting her.

Thank you to all of her volunteers, and her supporters.

Happy ever after Doris

Meet Doris who joined the BRNGB family in January this year

You may recall Doris, upon arrival it was clear there was something seriously wrong with her eyes.  Since then she has sadly lost both of her eyes.

She has adapted incredibly well with her wonderful foster family; she still loves her walks and "looking" out of the window.  Her confidence is slowly coming back and she's a happy girl after a difficult transition into the world of darkness.

Update

Doris is still doing really well despite losing both of her eyes.  She knows her foster home well and finds her way around.  Her foster siblings have been undergoing training so they understand commands which will help Doris move around without bumping them.

Doris is still a very happy girl and we are so pleased she is thriving so well. Massive well done to her foster family who really have gone above and beyond for this girl

She's not 100% yet but, in time, with love and guidance we are sure she will be.

They do a good job of saving these hounds and finding special homes for life. They also work hard to raise money to pay for any vet bills.

We have the privilege of adopting Dylan. The whole process was seamless and very reassuring that they cover all bases, both in relation to vetting us and also in the assessment of the hound
