Congratulations to Paddy, his journey with us has ended in his happy ever after.
Paddy had his meet and greet and went off to his forever home this weekend.
Have a wonderful life with your new family and hound brother Paddy.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in his journey especially his foster mum who will miss him dearly.
Paddy had a lot of applications, we're sorry if you were not successful this time, but please do keep watching the website as we have lots more hounds ready for their forever homes.
Meet Paddy, a wonderful loving boy at 4 years old.
He joined the BRNGB family in December 2023 and has been an absolute treasure to foster.
Paddy previously lived with a cat so will be happy to share his forever home with a dog savvy cat.
He joined his original family when their child was a toddler and grew up with them so he would welcome applications from homes with children over the age of 6 years old.
Paddy enjoys two meals a day and is more than happy with any treat he is offered in typical basset style. He shows no food aggression at all.
He will happily sleep in his bed, on your lap, in your bed, on your sofa, on the floor, in the armchair where ever he can fit his basset body, if he fits, he sleeps!
He enjoys ventures out in the car and is happy to be lifted in, we’re sure he will be more than happy to use steps or a ramp. He’s a quick learner so will only take a treat or two for him to get the gist.
He can be left home alone for short periods of time, around 4 hours without any issues, although he does like to shout about your arrival home. He’ll also welcome any delivery drivers or the postman with a shouting session.
He loves his walks and will be quite strong on lead to begin with but soon settles into a good sniffathon and loves to meet other people and dogs.
His most favourite past-time, apart from being with his humans, having a cuddle, food and playing with his toys is a good ol’ game of bitey face which he takes very seriously so Paddy will need another playful dog to satisfy his appetite for the most favourite of basset past-times!
Paddy is completely house trained and will give you hints that he needs to go outside by being restless.
Paddy has shown no issues on his vet visits, he takes these visits as he seems to take life, in his very happy go lucky, playful, laid back manner
All in all Paddy is a wonderful boy, who will be a wonderful companion to another playful hound in a family home.
