UPDATE 20th April 2024
What can we say about Dolly? She's absolutely loving life up in Scotland. She has regular visits to the beach, goes out and about everywhere with her foster family.
She still has her nasty cough, she still has her stiff leggies, but my goodness this girl knows how to live, be that mooching along the beach, or snuggled up watching football whilst tooting, and glaring at the nearest human as if it was them that made that stink!
As Dolly has settled so well, and is, in all honesty, in her golden years, we are so very very happy to announce that Dolly has been adopted by her foster family.
They really didn't want her to move on and start all over again......and they just love her spirit and soul too much to let her go.
So Dolly, congratulations we are so very pleased for you and your new family to call your own.
Enjoy your life special girl.
Thank you to Dolly's supporters, transporters and foster family. You've all been part of her journey.
UPDATE January 2024
So Dolly is now up in Scotland in foster, and loving life. It was also the plan that she would be fostered there, just that she needed to come in so quickly it took a little time to get her to where she was going. She missed her original fosters (who happen to be family of her now fosters) and was a little sad to not find them there where she woke up, but she really has settled in wonderfully.
Dolly has actually just celebrated her 13th birthday at the begining of January, we were told she was 11 when she came in so not far off!
She has had to have "some" teeth out, when we say some we mean 10 teeth. She surprised her foster family by coming home as bright as a button, taking her tablets and then snaffling her foster brother's tea so she's feeling fine and dandy now her teeth are sorted out.
She does however have a nasty cough which the vet is concerned about, there does seem to be some fluid on her lungs which we are going to continue to monitor and she does have the typical "older basset" lumps and bumps. One of her back legs is also quite weak.
She will be having another vet check this month and get her vaccinations, so hopefully we will be able to report a bit more thereafter.
We've updated her gallery, she's had some snow and is loving her beach walks
Dolly arrived in the BRNGB family just before Christmas. Sadly her owner is poorly and had no choice but to surrender her to us.
She's settled in well, although she does suffer with seperation anxiety, even when her foster parents are just in a different room. As you can see from the gallery of pictures she needs to be close, her foster dad spends nights with her in their nest and she settles well like this.
Obviously seperation anxiety is something that we will work on, but at the moment her foster family are just giving her eveything she needs whilst settling in.
She's had her wish list, all the notes were read to her whilst she willed a treat or two to fall on the floor.
Please do have a look at her photo gallery, she really is a very special girl
